Short biography
Classical guitarist Yuri Liberzon is a Naxos recording artist, praised by Classical Guitar Magazine for combining “musical elegance with architectural logic.” Born in Novosibirsk, Russia, and raised in Israel, he studied with Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory and Benjamin Verdery at Yale University, on full scholarship at both. He has released five solo and collaborative albums — including Konstantin Vassiliev: Guitar Works (2022) and Astor Piazzolla: Music for Guitar (2024) on the Naxos label, with a third Naxos album currently in production. His concert transcriptions of Bach and Scarlatti are published by Bergmann Edition. He has performed across the United States at venues including the 92nd Street Y in New York, and teaches at his studio in Los Altos, California.
