Guitar lessons with Yuri Liberzon

The studio year runs from September 1 to August 31 and includes 42 lessons for every student, whichever day of the week you come. Tuition is an annual amount paid in 12 equal monthly installments, so the payment is the same whether a month has three lessons or five. Days marked in gold on the calendar are studio breaks and holidays with no lessons; they are listed below. Lessons are held Tuesday to Friday and on Sunday; Mondays and Saturdays are greyed out.

Fees for weekly lesson students

Tuition is due at the first lesson of each month, in 12 equal installments covering the 42 lessons of the studio year. Payable to Yuri Liberzon. Personal checks and electronic forms of payment are accepted:

Late fee: if a payment is not received by the 10th of the month, a late fee of $25 will accrue.

Standardized examinations

For those interested, I can prepare students to take standardized tests such as the graded Royal Conservatory examinations or the British ABRSM.

Seminars

Seminars are mini masterclasses offered throughout the year. They are great for practicing performing in front of an audience, sharing ideas and receiving constructive criticism. Attendance is strongly recommended. Information for each seminar will be announced separately.

Recitals

Students have the opportunity to get performing experience in front of an audience. Generally, there are 3 recitals during the year. For those participating in the recital, there is a small fee to help cover performance space rental.

Ensembles

Depending on interest, I would like to put together ensembles (duos, trios, quartets, etc.). Students of similar skill level will be grouped together. Ensemble members will meet with me on a weekly or biweekly basis. Please let me know if you are interested in this opportunity to work on ensemble skills.

Audio and video recording

I am happy to offer a recording service for my students using professional equipment (audio only, or both audio and video). These recordings can be used for auditions, a portfolio, or personal use. Here aresome recordings I have done. Please let me know if you are interested.

Practice, listening, and concert attendance

For beginners, I recommend at least 30 minutes of practice every day. Regular listening to music is very important. In addition to student recitals, I highly recommend attending live music concerts. Please feel free to ask me for suggestions.

Materials

Please remember to bring your instrument, guitar support, sheet music and a notebook to each lesson. Tuning and warming up before each lesson is recommended. You are also permitted to record lessons using a portable recording device for more effective practice at home.

Attendance

It is the student’s responsibility to arrive on time. In case of late arrival, please notify me via text message or phone call. There is no obligation to extend the scheduled ending time.

Sick

Please do not come to your lesson in person if you are sick. Makeups and online lessons will be offered within reason.

Cancellations

There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. Lessons missed or cancelled by the student less than 24 hours in advance will not be rescheduled or refunded.

Within reason, rescheduling a lesson is possible with at least 24 hours’ notice before the lesson appointment. A makeup lesson will be provided if it is cancelled by the teacher.

Stopping and pausing lessons

Please give me at least 2 weeks’ advance notice if you would like to stop lessons. If no advance notice is given, students will be responsible for the following 2 weeks’ payment (half the monthly tuition).

Services

Fees cover lessons and consultations. I reserve the right to terminate lessons at any time.
